At SaveHopper, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
1. Who We Are
SaveHopper is operated by Zane, a company based in India. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, Zane is the data controller of your personal information.

2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide to us
- Account registration: Username and email address when you create an account.
- Saved coupons: The list of coupons you choose to save to your profile.
- Communications: Any information you send us via email or contact forms.
- User-submitted content: Coupon codes, deals, or reviews you submit (when this feature is available).
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages you visit, coupons you click or reveal, search queries, and time spent on the site.
- Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
- Cookies & tracking data: Information from cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies. See Section 4.
- Referral data: The website or link that directed you to SaveHopper.
Information from third parties
- Analytics and advertising platforms may share aggregated or pseudonymous data about your interactions with our site and ads.
- Affiliate networks may share click and conversion data related to deals you accessed through SaveHopper.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain SaveHopper and its features (including saved coupons and account management).
- Send transactional emails such as account confirmation and password reset links.
- Send promotional emails about new deals, features, or offers only where you have consented or where permitted by applicable law.
- Analyse usage patterns to improve site performance, content, and user experience.
- Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and affiliate campaigns.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations applicable to us.
Our legal bases for processing personal data include: performance of a contract (providing our service to you), legitimate interests (analytics, security, fraud prevention), your consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage, session storage) to make our website work and to understand how it is used.
Types of cookies we use
- Essential cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., keeping you logged in, session management). Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Marketing & advertising cookies: Track visits and conversions for advertising purposes (e.g., Meta Pixel).
- Affiliate tracking cookies: Set by affiliate networks when you click a deal link to track commissions.
- Functionality cookies: Remember your preferences to improve your experience.
You can manage or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings or a consent banner (where presented). Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.
5. Analytics & Advertising Tools
We use the following third-party tools to understand how SaveHopper is used and to improve our marketing:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC): Collects anonymised data about site visits, traffic sources, and user behaviour. Google may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.): Tracks page views and events to measure the effectiveness of Facebook and Instagram ads, and to enable remarketing. Governed by Meta's Data Policy.
- Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd.): Records anonymised session replays, heatmaps, and feedback polls to help us improve usability. Hotjar does not capture passwords or payment information. You can opt out at hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out.
- Other tools: We may add or change analytics and marketing tools over time. When we do, we will update this section and, where required, seek your consent.
6. Affiliate Links & Third Parties
When you click a "Get Deal" or "Reveal Code" button, you may be redirected through one of our affiliate network partners before reaching the merchant's website. These networks may set their own cookies to attribute the sale or conversion back to SaveHopper.
We work with multiple affiliate networks (the specific networks in use may change over time). Each network operates under its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
We do not sell your personal information to affiliate networks or merchants.
7. Email Communications
We may send you two types of emails:
- Transactional emails: Account confirmation, password reset, and important service notices. These are necessary for the service and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
- Promotional emails: New deals, exclusive discounts, and SaveHopper updates. You will only receive these if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any promotional email or by contacting us.
We use a third-party email service provider to send emails. Your email address is shared with this provider solely for this purpose and is not used for their own marketing.
8. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate SaveHopper (hosting, email delivery, analytics). They are bound by data processing agreements and may only use your data as instructed by us.
- Analytics & advertising platforms: Pseudonymised or aggregated data is shared with tools such as Google Analytics, Meta, and Hotjar as described in Section 5.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify registered users of any such transfer.
9. International Data Transfers
SaveHopper is based in India and primarily processes data within India. However, some of our service providers (such as Google, Meta, and Hotjar) are based in the United States or other countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
When we transfer personal data outside India or the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), adequacy decisions, or equivalent mechanisms as required by applicable law.
10. Data Retention
We retain your account data (username, email, saved coupons) for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.
Analytics and log data are typically retained for up to 26 months, after which they are automatically deleted or anonymised.
11. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted HTTPS connections, hashed passwords, and access controls.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your SaveHopper account.
12. Children's Privacy
SaveHopper is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
For users in the European Union between the ages of 13 and 16, parental consent is required for the processing of personal data, in line with GDPR requirements. If you believe your child has used SaveHopper without appropriate consent, please contact us at legal@zane.marketing.
13. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@zane.marketing.
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Restriction: Request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Object: Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
We will respond to requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your country.
14. Regional Disclosures
🇮🇳 India Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP)
As an Indian company, we comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act). You have the right to obtain a summary of your personal data, correct inaccurate data, erase your data, and nominate another individual to exercise rights on your behalf. You may also raise grievances with our Grievance Officer at legal@zane.marketing. We will respond within the timeframe mandated by law.
🇪🇺 European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have comprehensive rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and the right to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we process your data as a controller, we rely on legitimate interests, contract performance, and/or consent as our legal bases.
🇺🇸 United States California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, disclose, and "sell" (we do not sell personal information). You have the right to delete your personal information, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and non-discrimination for exercising your rights. 🇨🇦 Canada PIPEDA
Canadian residents have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) including the right to access and correct personal information held about them, and to withdraw consent to its use. Contact us at legal@zane.marketing to exercise these rights.
🇦🇺 Australia Privacy Act 1988
Australian users have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information. If you have a privacy concern that we have not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
🇦🇪 UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021
Users in the UAE have rights under the Federal Decree-Law on the Protection of Personal Data including the right to access, correct, and request deletion of their personal data. Contact us at legal@zane.marketing to exercise these rights.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where required, notify registered users via email or an on-site notice.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of SaveHopper after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
